Wonderful scenery and authentic experience in Hunza

My friend Matt and I just completed a 10-day tour of Hunza, starting point Islamabad. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. It was a highlight of my nine months of full-time travel around the world. Our guide Kumail was a kind and calm person, a great ambassador for his country. He was flexible with our itinerary. Kumail has a good sense of humour. Most of all, he is a very gifted photographer and videographer, which is such a huge bonus. He is proficient in English and very knowledgeable about Pakistan. When he shared about his country and culture, it never sounded like a lecture, but more like a conversation with a friend. The tour was well-customised. For instance, we decided to stay an extra day in the Central Hunza region because it's amazing. Our itinerary remained packed even though we chose to skip any altitude higher than 3200m. Kumail always checked our room and made sure we had everything we needed. I could tell he was hard at work behind the scenes to make sure we were always happy. In addition, we had a fantastic driver, Faqir, who was super skilled and focused on his job -- a must on the crazy Pakistan roads. Always smiling, Faqir has a very sweet personality and spoke reasonably good English. It was a joy to have him as our driver. I have travelled a lot this year and in my life, this was the first time a tour did not force me to go waste time in tourist shops. I appreciated that a lot. Actually, everything we did during this trip felt very authentic. We loved the local Pakistani food and became almost addicted to chai. Our hotels were of good standard for the region. All in all, I would strongly recommend Hunza Trek and Tours and will certainly hire them again when I return to Pakistan (because one trip is not enough for this wonderful country).

Manzour, the owner and guide, was very flexible in terms of adjusting the originally 18-day Northern Pakistan tour to fit into my friend and I's financial budget and the 10 days available (we still managed to see a lot). The tour itself was well organised, we rode in a comfortable car (and of course the jeep ride between Raikot Bridge and Tattu, just before the trek to Fairy Meadows), he always consulted on what we wanted to eat and always provided a WiFi hot-spot from his phone, which was highly appreciated. The hotels were simple (as per our budget) but comfortable with very good views of Northern Pakistan. The home dinners with local families and traditional dances were a very nice touch that gave a glimpse into Gilgit- Baltistan culture-the people are very nice and welcoming. Both Manzour and Ali, the driver, were really great company to hang out with for the 10 days and made us feel very safe. I was a very happy client and would highly recommend Hunza Trek and Tours!
